Global Green
About
The Global Green returns as the place at the Electric Picnic to slow down, celebrate the potential for cultural transformation and to imagine a future that works for all.
‘Surfing the Waves of Change’
Re-charge * Re-think * Re-engage
Global Green is a colourful and enchanting area at the Electric Picnic which brings together a wide community of cultural creatives, activists, artists and civil society organisations. Entering its 5th year, Global Green is the place to re-charge with fairtrade coffee & artisan food, to re-think what is going on in this rapidly changing world and find out how to re-engage with your community.
Exploring the themes of hope & opportunity through creative collaboration, Global Green will be ‘Surfing the Waves of Change’ this year with 3 days of energizing and thought provoking entertainment. Food, film, music and debate are all on the menu, along with workshops and games for all ages. So whether you want to get involved or just chill out, make sure to visit this revitalizing oasis over the festival weekend.
Activities Include: Rethink Tank, Slow Tent, Amnesty’s Bingo Tent, the Invent Tent, Vintage Cycle Chic, Stencil Art, Solar Blogging Station, Micro Cinema, Master Composter workshops, a People’s Picnic and wrapping it all up with the Vintage Party on Sunday night. Much much more to be announced.
The organisations coming together to bring you Global Green this year are: Cultivate, Amnesty, Cloughjordan Ecovillage, the Irish Cycling Community, Green Me, Green Ireland Interactive, Glas Energy, Transition Towns, Irish Seed Savers, Slow Food, Iceland:Ireland, Stop Food Waste, Grow It Yourself Ireland, Birdwatch, Fairtrade Ireland, Western Sahara Action Ireland, the Hedge Layers Association, Street Feast, Crafts Council and the Irish Architecture Foundation.
How to find Global Green: You’ll find us nestled between Village Green and Green Crafts and opposite the main entrance of Body and Soul.
