Big Audio Dynamite
Big Audio Dynamite (later known as Big Audio Dynamite II and Big Audio, and BAD) were formed in 1984 by the ex-guitarist and singer of The Clash, Mick Jones. The band blended elements of punk rock, reggae, hip-hop, electronica and rock with experimental funk and hip hop. Adding samplers, dance tracks to Jones’ concise pop song writing, Bad Audio Dynamite debuted on record with the single The Bottom Line in September 1985 and the album This Is Big Audio Dynamite later that year. E=MC2 and Medicine Show charted in England and the dance charts in America.
1991’s The Globe featured the hit; Rush which hit Number 1 on both the US modern rock chart and the Australian National Aria Chart. After the bands Higher Power album the band parted ways with Epic signing to Radioactive in 1995 releasing ‘F-Punk”. Bad Audio would split shortly afterwards. Jones would later produce Libertines' Up the Bracket, form Carbon/Silicon and tour with the Gorillaz.
