I Am Kloot
When the plaudits began to pour in for I am Kloot’s superb fifth album Sky at Night last summer following their Mercury Music Prize nomination, it was heartening to see the rise of a band starting to get the recognition they have deserved for so so long.
The Manchester trio certainly made the right decision when they asked long time friend’s Guy Garvey and Chris Potter of Elbow to produce the record. Not only do they understand the melancholic beauty of John Bramwell’s songwriting and the power of the trios skewed, battered melodies, they’ve added an extra scope and ambition not seen on previous albums.
Garvey was there at the beginning of course, producing their debut 2001’s defining Natural History. Live I am Kloot play a powerful and passionate set which was one of the highlights of their Electric Picnic 2009 performace. It's time to welcome them back to the festival for what will be a triumphant return.
