Ivan St. John
Since adopting the Ivan St. John moniker, the Dublin pop songwriter has been quietly plying his trade. Despite performing shows and touring with artists of the ilk of Camera Obscura, Richard Swift, Of Montreal, Rodriguez and The Walkmen, he has avoided screechy hyperbole, choosing instead to get on with the work at hand.
His 2010 debut LP 'Up To Snuff' was recorded at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio in Chicago and mastered at Abbey Road by Steve Rooke (Wilco, Animal Collective). It's and album of close harmony singing with predominant influences in early doo-wop, rock n' roll, pop, folk and blues.
