Land Lovers
Land Lovers have notions on being a clever, nuanced pop band with immediate attractions to thrill and details to discover. They have recently released their second album, Confidants. It is their first album as a full band. Jim Carroll of the Irish Times called it "a rare gem of a record" where you'll find "meaty, magnificent, haunting worlds of domestic wonder".
They are founder members of the Popical Island collective. They've played at Electric Picnic and Forbidden Fruit in the past, and they've also been the unloved crowd-fluffers for an assortment of international luminaries, including Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, The Mantles, Nodzz, and The Wave Pictures.
Both Land Lovers albums (Romance Romance and Confidants) and an EP are available at landloversmusic.bandcamp.com
"Land Lovers are the latest indie-pop band to make waves on the Irish underground, and with good reason – their new album Confidants is a sparkling listen.” AU Magazine
“accomplished and rich record of tightly arranged songs....Cooney’s profuse lyrics are a big highlight... The delivery of overtly foreboding themes is balanced out with exuberance and charm-filled songs” Nialler9.com
