We're delighted to welcome back Scottish 5 piece, Mogwai to Electric Picnic. Mogwai’s sound is powerfull and majestic where barely a word is spoken yet it is the opposite of background music. Album and song titles bemuse, confuse and delight in equal measure and live, they are utterly unstoppable. They are loud, full of feedback, heartbreaking melodies and riffs.
Their debut album Young Team was a defining statement of post-rock and since that albums release in 1997 they have consistently reinvented themselves moving and evolving through periods which touched upon traditional indie rock and startling, intricate delicacy before coming full circle with their last release, 2011’s Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will. Mogwai, quite simply, rock. Live they push the boundaries of their instruments and amps to the mercy of your senses.
