O Emperor
The instantly lovable O Emperor have made quite an impact since playing the Cosby Stage at last years Picnic. Having originally planned the independent release of their début, the band were signed up by Universal Records and spent much 2010 touring Ireland and the UK with Mumford & Sons as well as gigging across the UK and throughout Ireland in their own right.
Appearances on RTE’s flagship arts show The View and Other Voices further widened the bands appeal. The long awaited debut Hither Tither was released in October 2010 and reached number 6 in the Irish charts. The album is a weave of organic textures and dreamy melodies glued together with chiming guitars and layered keyboards, underpinned by languorous rhythms and topped off with breathtaking harmonies.
