The Walkmen
Having grown up playing together in various bands since 5th grade The Walkmen broke through in 2002 with their debut album Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me is Gone. 2004’s Bows & Arrows featured indie rock anthem The Rat which Pitchfork named the top 20 song of the decade.
They are set to return to Stradbally in support of their debut on the Fat Possum label. It was worth the wait and after a decade and a half of sculpting intensity and turning on and off epic poetry, The Walkmen have released Lisbon, their best record to date in which the New Yorkers reduce their songs to little more than melodic skeletons without losing the classicism of artists like Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. Lisbon is a collation and culmination of their finest work in years. And it’s irresistible.
