Trinity Orchestra plays Daft Punk
Founded in 1984, Trinity Orchestra are billed as the only fully student run orchestra in Ireland. Named the Best Overall Society in 2005, 2007, and 2009 at the CSC Society of the Year Awards, it features some of Ireland's most talented musicians. Members come from every corner of Trinity and are brought together by their love for music. The orchestra has created symphonic arrangements of modern music in the past few years, which have included Radiohead and Sigur Ros.
This year they played Daft Punk’s album ‘Discovery’ in the Trinity College Dublin’s Exam Hall. It was the first ever live orchestral performance of the music of Daft Punk. The results of which were breathtaking. The students are also responsible for every aspect of the show, even down to video and sound recording.
Electric Picnic is delighted to announce that Trinity Orchestra will open the Main Satge on Saturday with a live full orchestral performance of Daft Punk’s ‘Discovery’
