Welcome to Little Picnic, brought to you by the team behind KALEIDOSCOPE, Ireland’s Family-friendly music and arts festival. Little Picnic is a colourful and enchanting area of Electric Picnic designed specifically with families in mind. It’s bursting with creative, educational and inspirational workshops, sports, wellness, and is all round heaps of fun for the whole family.
Little Picnic is open to anyone attending Electric Picnic with children, on the back lawn of Stradbally Estate from 2pm to 7pm on Friday, and from 11am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. If you don’t have a Family Camping wristband, Little Picnic wristbands are available to pick up onsite. Wander over for a visit and experience all the excitement that awaits at Little Picnic over the festival weekend. Join us for a Kids’ Disco Party like no other! Get ready to bust a move, show off your dance steps, and have a blast with friends. Kids Disco with Will Softly will have funky classics to the latest hits, there’s a song for everyone to shake, twist, and twirl to. Groove and move with the most amazing brass band adventure! The Ballymore Eustace Brass Band will introduce families to the fantastic world of brass instruments. Make a splash with colours and creativity at our tie dye workshop with Lollipop Apparel! Gather round for Storytelling with Johnny Magory for an exciting story time adventure where you’ll meet Johnny and his friends as they embark on thrilling escapades in the Irish wilderness.
Calling all young yogis and aspiring adventurers, for movement, mindfulness, and fun with Family Yoga. School Fitness Ireland will have loads of fun equipment for use all day such as wobble boards, gymnastics beams, soccer balls and jumping games. Giggle, wiggle, and laugh out loud with super fun Laughter Yoga sessions for kids! Join Louise Burchall for a playful adventure where laughter is the name of the game. Let your creative ideas flow at Little Picnic with Trace Colour Build & Fly Kite Workshop suitable for children 5 upwards and a kite to take home and fly! There will be fun-filled beginner Ukulele Workshops, with Alto School of Music designed for children ages 6 to 12. By the end of the workshop, participants will be ready to play cool tunes and share the joy of music with family and friends.
Unleash your imagination and creativity at our exciting Pomini Arts & Crafts Station! Join us in a world of colourful possibilities, where you can turn ordinary materials into extraordinary masterpieces. Embark on a mesmerizing journey of creativity at Electric-Collage! Children will delve into the captivating world of collage art to create enchanting landscapes bursting with texture and imagination. Guided by Celina Buckley, attendees will experiment with a vibrant array of materials, bringing their dream landscapes to life. Celina will also help children to unleash their inner designer and storyteller with CoverVerse, children will embark on an exhilarating journey of book cover design inspired by the festival’s enchanting atmosphere.
The Gaiety School of Acting will hold a workshop exploring the magical songs of Disney’s Frozen! This immersive experience invites young performers to sing, act, and dance to their favourite Frozen hits. Or why not explore a whole new world with the Disney Musical Theatre – the fun, hit-filled workshop will teach you how to sing loud and proud.
Come and join our circus! Learn Tight Wire Walking, Juggling, Plate Spinning, Diabolo and many more circus skills with our expert teachers. The Bubble Guys will provide a bubble-tastic show that will blow your mind! Watch in wonder as the bubble magicians create bubbles of all sizes – from tiny ones that tickle your nose to giant ones that might just carry you away!
