Three’s City Stages Collective will debut a collaborative ensemble performance on stage at Electric Picnic

Three Charge & Chill also returns to EP providing complimentary charging and unrivalled main stage views

City Stages has been touring Ireland in 2023 providing career breaking opportunities to musicians across the country

Tuesday 25th July, 2023: Eight Irish musicians will take the step from performing on city streets to the stage at Electric Picnic as Three City Stages comes to Ireland’s biggest festival this summer. The performance announcement comes alongside the news that Three Charge & Chill will be back at EP, providing Three+ customers with an enhanced festival experience including a perfect view of all the main stage performances across the weekend.

The City Stages Collective, comprised of Arthur Valentine, Bukky, Kestine, Korey Power, Leah Moran, Liliana Pinheiro, Salamay and Two Time Charlie, will combine their musical talents for a very special ensemble performance at Electric Picnic. Supported by a full backing band, the group will showcase the wealth of Ireland’s busking talent found performing daily across the main streets of cities around the country.

Located next to the main arena, the Three Charge & Chill area returns to EP this summer offering complimentary charging, unrivalled views of main stage and exclusive treats for Three+ customers to enhance their festival experience.

The eight musicians were selected for this unique Electric Picnic performance by a panel of Irish music industry professionals*. The group chose the acts based on a mixture of their live performances at a City Stage as well as researching each performers own artist professional progress.

City Stages has been touring Ireland visiting towns and cities such as Dublin, Limerick, Waterford, Kilkenny and Galway. The initiative offers the next generation of musicians, currently plying their trade busking on Ireland’s city streets, a platform to perform and to progress their careers by offering a select few the opportunity to perform on the biggest stages in the country. To date, almost 500 musicians have applied to perform on a Three City Stage.

Electric Picnic won’t be the first major opportunity that Three’s City Stages has provided to up & coming Irish talent. In February, Kildare songwriter Tia Burke, a performer on the Waterford City Stages event, was selected by Self Esteem to open her sold out 3Olympia Theatre show.

Three’s City Stages will continue touring Ireland across 2023, post Electric Picnic, with more opportunities for those artists to play on some of Ireland’s biggest stages such as 3Arena and 3Olympia, opening for major artists. Applications to perform can be found at 3.ie/CityStages.

In addition to the opportunity to perform, every musician who applies for City Stages can access a series of music industry mentoring masterclasses. Held both online and in person, earlier this year applicants were invited to a special masterclass on live performance held on to the stage of the 3Olympia Theatre.

Speaking on the announcement of City Stages coming to Electric Picnic, Marketing Director at Three UK & ROI Aislinn O’Connor said: “The City Stages platform has been a huge success to date. At Three, we are so invested in live music it is fantastic to see City Stages discover and provide an elevated platform to some incredible new artists. We are very excited about bringing these acts together at Electric Picnic and cannot wait for music fans to be a part of a unique performance and surely one of the highlights of the festival weekend.”

City Stages ambassador, broadcaster Tracy Clifford added:

“I have had the pleasure of watching these acts perform around the country on Three’s City Stages so to see them get their opportunity to play at EP is very exciting. They all bring a different dynamic and diverse range of musical talent to their live shows so to see them as a collective will be very special.”

City Stages is part of Three’s commitment to the brand’s All For Music positioning, helping to support and nurture new and exciting musical talent in Ireland through live experiences.
